I tried to download krita, but the windows installer didn't work. I don't want to install some linux distribution just to test it, so I guess I'll have to wait. This kind of work really makes it difficult though, it's really eye catching, and the strokes texture gives it such a cool traditionnal look.

What I like here is the brushes and palette that make it look like a painting on a canvas.

Ah, it's sad that purple irises don't occur naturally. They're so lovely.

Great work as always.

While I'm using Krita, I still love MyPaint too much to completely switch.

Indeed. In fact, if Krita had delayed ink pens, it'd be a match for Manga Studio. If not better. (if they have delayed ink pens I haven't found them yet)

Still I've put a lot of time into modifying the brushes in MyPaint to do some amazing things, so I'll probably stick with it as my primary drawing/painting tool.

Incidentally, I started using Krita because the Gimp that came with my distro won't recognize .ora files, and the old .ora plugin doesn't work. Not that good at compiling, so I haven't put 11.6 on. (running 12, and Ubuntu won't let me put the old one on without completely stripping out a lot of files. Annoying.

But, now that I've started using Krita I've found it to be a great tool. Especially for comic art. Love the hatching brush.

Lovely portrait! :) It reminds me of the '80s fantasy movie LadyHawke--the story is about a woman who is under a spell to be a bird by day and human at night. :D Good job, keep it up! :+fav:

Amazing portrait, my friend! I love so much the classical painterly style and the freedom of brush-work!
The two birds, the girl staring with an intense gaze and the chromatic choice give a touch of mystery to the painting...
Added to my favorites at once! :D
Maybe the nose sides need a little refinement, but it's a very small thing... Great artwork!
