Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Nintendo STEALS Money!Since this has been going around lately, I should probably give my two cents. Basically what it amounts to is that Nintendo has filed Content ID info of their games with YouTube. What this means is that if you upload gameplay video of a Nintendo game, YouTube will automatically monetize that video, put ads on it, a link to where to buy the game, and take the money generated from that video and give it directly to Nintendo. People who do "let's play" videos are, naturally, pissed off because they want to be earning money off their videos, so they're calling Nintendo "thieves" for doing this.
I can see both sides to the story. I can see Nintendo as a corporation wanting to exercise control over their properties. On the other hand, "let's play" videos can often help new gamers find games they otherwise wouldn't have tried.
But here's the thing: Nintendo isn't the first company do this. Both Microsoft and Ubisoft do it already. YouTube has also had a long history of having music videos and

Hi Everyone!
This is a very special post, I explain why.

I have agreed to attend and give a presentation at the Libre Graphics Meeting 2012 in Vienna (Austria). For those who do not know it, is the largest annual event where developers meet worldwide.
It is where the greatest advances are devised with opensource technology. then we can all enjoy on our computers for free.

My presentation will focus on digital painting and foss. It will be the week of 2-5 May. It will help users to understand the needs of illustrators and how we can satisfy them with free applications, as well as explaining the strengths and those who are less so. The areas of improvement for the future.

I have prepared a page if you want to help a little with the expense of such an event characteristics. (lodging, meals, travel)
I also appreciate the social media spread as much as possible so we can reach more people.

Sure it will be an exciting and instructive time for all. Imagine what can happen in a week when people interact in real time. Google knows this, and so every year celebrates the GSOC. So if you like free software is a good way to support it.

Por cierto, aquí se hacen anuncios sobre si saldrá el nuevo GIMP, o si MyPaint traerá mas mejoras? Y claro, no olvidando Krita, Blender y otras aplicaciones de dibujo.

Y ya por útlimo (que pregunto, verdad) se discutirá cual será el rumbo a seguir en los S.O GNU/Linux ahora que Adobe anuncio su cese de flash, y que esperar a que HTML5 madure como se debe para ver flash sin problemas?

Claro que si, visitaré tu blog todavía mas seguido. Y disculpa la impertinencia, pero creo que un tema que afecta a bastantes usuarios.

Y es que Chrome esta cubeirto por la compra de licencia (quiero suponer Chromium estaría igual de cubierto), Firefox se salva con el plugin de VLC. Pero los afectados son Ephifany, Konqueror, Opera, Seamonkey, Iceweasel y cualquier otro navegador que esté olvidando.

me parece genial que preguntes y que compartas ideas. Es una forma de aprender que tenemos todos. Yo estoy especialmente interesado en que rumbo van a seguir los desarrollos de escritorios y como va a afectar a los nuevos dispositivos tablet. porque pienso que ahí si que hay un buen punto de desarrollo, más con todo lo que está pasando.

Muy cierto. Con tantos cambios en los escritorios, uno ya no sabe ahora que locuras vienen. Y si de por si hay quienes se quejan porque genera confusión, cada vez los mas nuevos se van a quedar con cara de 'what'. Y ahora con el aspecto de las tablet, hay que ver que tanto afecta su instalación y su compatibilidad (que si de por si es algo complicada, quien sabe que tanto mas dificil se vuelva)

Y los #gimp, #krita y #mypaint son de aquí de dA o de tu blog?? Para no andear trasteando tan feo
